From the hectic Los Angeles to the calm rural England: actress Robin Wright raves about the change of scenery. America is a “disaster” for them.
Robin Wright prefers the rural England Los Angeles. “I love it in this country. There is freedom to be yourself. People are so friendly,” the actress (“House of Cards”, “Forrest Gump”) told “The Times”. The actress has spent the past few years mostly in Great Britain and rented a number of houses in the rural area west of London.
“People live. They are not stuck in traffic jams, panicked on the phone and eat a sandwich. These are the largest parts of America,” said Wright. There is everything about hustle and bustle, competition and speed. “America is a disaster,” said the 59-year-old.
“I just have enough of it”
While she would hear the birds in England in the morning, she wake up in Los Angeles from her neighbors’ renovation work. “Everyone builds a huge house and I just have enough of it – I love the peace.”
According to “The Times”, Wright now wants to take a break from work with her partner, the architect Henry Smith and move into a house on the English coast with two dogs. “It is liberating to be ready. Finding and looking for and only 60 percent of what you wanted,” said Wright.
The actress says about Smith: “He is a treasure and just a good, decent adult.” But the triple divorced does not want to marry again: “No, for God’s sake. Why? That is just unnecessary.”
