In the interview, Steffen Hallaschka tells the extent to which Günther Jauch helped him with his quizmaster debut in “7 correct”.
Steffen Hallaschka (53) presents a new RTL quiz show. The “Stern TV” moderator will be the quiz master for the first time in “7 correct – the quiz of know -it -all” (1st and 8th September, Mondays at 8:15 p.m. on RTL or in advance).
Seven opponents compete against each other at the same time. As a quiz champion, they want to take home 100,000 euros at the end. While a candidate is sitting at the Rate desk at Hallaschka, the others can take over the game and become a know -it -all, there should be uncertainties in the competition.
In an interview with the news agency Spot on News, Steffen Hallaschka reveals what he says about “Stern TV” predecessor Günther Jauch (69), who on September 15 with new editions of “Who will be a millionaire?” returned, looked at. The Quizmaster debutant also reveals why the “Besserwisser” moderation differs a lot from his “Stern TV” activity and whether he would follow Jauch’s “WWM” succession.
With “7 correct – the quiz of know -it -all”, there may be a quick change of candidates. To what extent is the quiz still different compared to established formats?
Steffen Hallaschka: With “7 correct” all candidates start into play with three lives. So if you fail on the Hot Seat, you have the chance to get a comeback from the second row. This is a particularly nice moment because the audience particularly celebrates sympathetic teammates when they succeed in returning to the Hot Seat.
The quiz runs on the broadcasting station of “Who is getting a millionaire?”. Is the pressure great, whether the quiz can exist there?
Hallaschka: This is not pressure, but a tailwind. On Monday evening at 8:15 p.m., the RTL audience has been used to exciting and entertaining quiz entertainment for many years. And in this regard, “7 correct” will certainly not disappoint.
At RTL there is “who will be a millionaire?” The quiz veteran. Why does the quiz last so long and still look in?
Hallaschka: “WWM” has all the qualities that an indestructible quiz show classic needs: clear rules, exciting dramaturgy, extremely good and intelligent questions, the “Mitrate effect” for home and a likeable moderator who takes the quiz seriously, but has a lot of irony and humor with himself and his candidates. In my eyes, the 1: 1 situation between the moderator and the candidate is the real secret of the show. Whenever I put in, it takes me immediately.
Did you look a little bit for your quizmaster debut from colleague Günther Jauch?
Hallaschka: I know from Günther Jauch how important it was initially to develop the right timing for “WWM”: speed on the easier questions, more peace and tension in the more difficult questions, and in between small islands of relaxation to get to know the candidates in the talk better. I remembered that when it went into the production of my premiere show.
As a quiz master, do you find it difficult not to help the candidates and to stay neutral?
Hallaschka: Of course there are candidates who are so sympathetic that it is difficult not to carry them to the main prize. On the other hand, exciting quiz can only succeed if the conditions are the same for everyone and the failure remains part of the game. Triumph and drama are the two sides of each gripping story.
How does the “Besser” moderation differ for you to your “Stern TV” activity?
Hallaschka: The preparation can hardly be compared. Of course I prepare for the questions and my candidates on “7 right” – I want to know who I have to do with. But unlike in journalistic magazine, there is much more about the spontaneity and running gags, the live moment and the large arches.
RTL has revealed that you would also like to be knowledgeable, but are blank with the royals. In which topics are you an expert in which not?
Hallaschka: When it comes to feature films, series and actors, I have big deficits. I look a lot, but I rarely remember names and faces. However, I compensate for this by saving off the off -road details that others quickly forget. Because I can learn as a moderator every week, I am very well positioned in the width of the topics. So I am a “all-rounder” and have so far been able to rely on it quite well as a quiz show candidate.
Is it just a one-time excursion or can you imagine moderation further quiz formats?
Hallaschka: Before I apply for further quiz moderations, I now wait for the premiere of “7 Right” and hope that the audience has as much fun as I do.
Would you assume if Günther Jauch appointed you to his “WWM” successor?
Hallaschka: The question does not arise. Günther Jauch still has so much fun with the format that he will certainly continue for many years. My forecast: If one day the colleague will actually go into quiz council, “WWM” also comes to the television museum.
