It is only half a retreat: In June, fashion icon Anna Wintour had announced that it would stop as “Vogue” boss for the USA. Now her successor is certain – and Wintour stays on board.
After the withdrawal of fashion icon Anna Wintour (75), the magazine “Vogue” has appointed the previous online boss Chloe Malle (39) as the new editor-in-chief of the US edition. Malle has been working at the magazine for 14 years and has so far moderated the weekly podcast “The Runthough” in addition to the management of the “Vogue” website.
Wintour, which is considered one of the most influential women in the fashion industry worldwide, had announced its withdrawal from the top of the US title at the end of June, but also explained that it was connected to the “Vogue” worldwide. In the future, she was a global editor-in-chief and the highest content of Condé Nast for the title, a spokeswoman for the German Press Agency had confirmed at the time.
Wintour also remains the head of the Met Gala
Wintour has been editor-in-chief of the US “Vogue” since 1988. She also remains the chief organizer for the Met gala, which is causing a sensational Met Gala, which takes place every year in early May.
“” Vogue “has shaped me and now I am happy about the prospect of being able to” shape Vogue “, Malle said at the start of the new task. “And I feel in the extremely happy situation that I have Anna down the aisle than my mentor.”
