Success after five years: Cardi B does not have to pay compensation to a security force that she had sued.
After five long years of the legal discussion, everything went very quickly: a jury in Los Angeles has acquitted Cardi B (32) in all charges. The 32-year-old rapper, with a bourgeois name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, therefore does not have to pay the applicant.
The former security force Emani Ellis had accused the “Bodak Yellow” interpreter of attacking her in 2018 in a gynecological practice. Cardi B is said to have hurt her face so badly with the fingernails that a plastic operation was necessary. In addition, the rapper spat on her and abused them emotionally. This was why an action was officially filed in 2020.
Pregnancy as a secret
During her statement, Cardi B vehemently denied all allegations. “She couldn’t get a scratch from me because I didn’t touch her,” she said in court. The musician admitted that the situation was very heated – even “chest of chest” they would have faced each other. However, physical violence never existed.
The reason for the argument was in Cardi BS at the time, which she still kept secret. “I was getting used to everything. I was worried about what everyone would say and think,” she said her motives. The privacy in medical matters was important to her, “especially something as sacred as pregnancy”.
7 million dollars required
When Ellis filmed her in practice, Cardi B feared the unveiling of her pregnancy. “I said to her: ‘Why are you picking up?'” “The woman apologized, but a violent argument had flared up. Ellis, who lost her job after the incident, complained of medical costs, pain and suffering and lost wages. Cardi BS page therefore put the claim at $ 24 million.
The quick judgment of the jury now confirms Cardi BS version of the events. For the successful musician, the acquittal means the end of a year -long legal dispute.
