At the Tango World Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentine couples won the most important categories. Leandro Bojko and Micaela García prevailed with their interpretation of the play “Kicho”, which was characterized by many show elements, the tango legend Astor Piazzolla in the stage tango discipline.
Couples from over 50 countries took part in the Tango World Cup in the Argentine capital. The Argentinians Diego Ortega and Aldana Silveyra danced to victory in the traditional dance hall category the day before. “A dream comes true for us. We have wanted it for many years and now we are very happy,” said Silveyra of the newspaper “La Nación”.
The tango was built in Buenos Aires and the Uruguayan capital Montevideo at the end of the 19th century. From there he conquered the world. The period between 1935 and 1955 is considered the golden age of the tango. But even today, the melancholic dance is an integral part of culture in both countries.
