JJ is looking forward to the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna: “This is one of the coolest moments in a career.” Whether he also moderates is still open.
The Austrian ESC winner JJ (24) is happy that the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in his hometown next year. “I was very happy that it will take place here at home in Vienna. The 60th ESC was here in Vienna and the 70th,” said the singer of the German Press Agency. “I’m really excited to see what it will be next year and I’m happy for all participants because it can simply be one of the coolest moments in a career.”
The trained opera singer won the European music competition in May with his pop arie “Wasted Love”. The public service broadcaster ORF as organizer announced two weeks ago that the final will take place again after 1967 and 2015 in the Austrian capital.
From the ESC winner to the moderator?
It has not yet been decided whether JJ will also act as a moderator at the final in the Vienna Stadthalle in the Vienna Stadthalle, as indicated in an earlier interview. “I just said it as a gag. It would be very funny, but that’s a lot of work if I also have to perform several times.”
The 24-year-old countertenor, who was born and lives in Vienna, brings out the successor single “Back to Forgetting” three and a half months after his ESC triumph this Friday. The song is poppier, JJ uses its high voice and the classic elements are much more subtle than with “Wasted Love”.
