From there we see, interspersed between more serious images, a bare and sweaty back; An Non -shirt Elordi driving hay in a stable; more kneaded with bread; fingers through egg yolks; Robbie’s character putting his fingers in Elordi’s mouth; a bodice being adjusted; a bodice being cut; more fingers in mouths; a woman with horse rigs placed on her face; more elordi without a shirt; the duo face to face to kiss; And, of course, a finger in the mouth of a fish.

Brontë’s original novel is considered by many as one of the great literary pieces when it was published in 1847. The original story follows two families, the Earnshaw and Lianton, and the turbulent relationship they have with the adoptive son of the Earnshaw, Heathcliff.
Robbie plays Catherine Earnshaw and Elordi plays Heathcliff. Fennell wrote, directed and produced. Robbie also produces through its producer Luckychap. This is the third collaboration between Luckychap and Fennell. Robbie’s producer also produced her film Saltburn and Promising Young Womanfor which Fennell won an Oscar for the best original script.
Controversy for the choice of Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff
Fennell has received criticism for choosing a white actor for the role of Heathcliff, described in the book as a “dark skin gypsy” and a “lascar”, an outdated term that means sailor from India or Southeast Asia.
Much of the original material addresses the implications of the aspect of Heathcliff and the intricate racial and colonial dynamic within its adoptive family (as well as its social position and the lack of known family), since it suffers constant abuses and harassment by Catherine’s brother. The additional discontent also arose from the general leadership of Fennell in the project, given its affinity for the obscene and the fact that the film is not presented as a modern version.
Borrascosas Cumbres arrives at theaters on February 12.
