King Charles has given an insight into his own state of health. The monarch literally said: “I’m not that bad.”
King Charles (76), who suffered from cancer, ceremoniously opened a hospital near Birmingham on Wednesday. On the occasion, the monarch met some patients from Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, which has been in operation since October last year. In conversation with another cancer patient, Charles also said about his own health constitution: “I am not that bad”.
King Charles jokes: “Over 70 the parts no longer work so well”
These words fell when the 76-year-old had to talk to the cancer patient Matthew Shinda, who asked him about his own recovery. As is well known, the Buckingham Palace made the cancer diagnosis of the English king public in February last year. What kind of cancer the monarch suffers from was never announced. Despite ongoing treatment, he continues his royal obligations.
The first baby from the hospital also met the monarch
At meeting another patient, an 85-year-old woman named Jacqueline Page, she joked that she was wearing. The king replied: “I know that is the terrible, as I find out. If you are over 70, the parts no longer work so well.”
The hospital staff welcomed the king to his visit to the new 736 Betten Hospital. Hundreds of people cheered, clapped and shot selfies when Charles spoke with them personally ,. Originally, Charles was supposed to open the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in March, but the visit had to be canceled at short notice when side effects of his cancer treatment occurred.
Charles also met the first baby who was ever born in the hospital on Wednesday. Hernata Yonas was born on October 6th around 9 a.m., 90 minutes after the delivery station opened its doors for the first time.
