She already has an Oscars, now there is a fixed place on Hollywood’s “Walk of Fame”: Jessica Chastain brings prominent guests to the star celebration – and tells of her poor childhood.
Oscar winner Jessica Chastain (48) can look forward to another Hollywood award. In front of cheering fans, the US actress unveiled her star badge on the “Walk of Fame” on the famous sidewalk she is now with the 2,819. Stern immortalized.
In the flash of lightning of the photographers, the star beamed on the badge. In her acceptance speech, the actress also followed serious words. She spoke about her poor childhood in Northern California with three siblings and a single, young mother. The money for food was often missing, she went to school hungry. But her loving mother tried to do her best, said Chastain.
In a theater class, she discovered how important it was to tell stories and thus address people. Chastain also spoke about a younger, mentally ill sister who no longer lives. Silence would not help, the actress emphasized. You have to spread love and address things.
Al Pacino gets enthusiastic
At the celebration, Chastain received prominent support. Al Pacino (85) and Viola Davis (60) paid tribute as the star guests. He hoped that he would not die up here on the podium, the gray -haired Pacino joked.
He recalled his first encounter with the then young, unknown actress, which he had invited to audition for a role in the drama “Salome”. A “pretty, small, red -haired girl” rose to the stage and Chastain immediately convinced him with her talent. “She is a genius,” enthused the Hollywood star.
At the side of Pacino, Chastain was already on stage in the play “Salome” in 2006. In 2013, Pacino also staged a film with chastain from the fabric as a director and actor. The two stars currently stand for the joint film project “Assassination” about the murder of US President John F. Kennedy in front of the camera.
With Davis as the leading actress, Chastain turned the southern drama “The Help” in a supporting role, which brought Oscar nominations in 2012. Chastain won Hollywood’s highest award 2022 as the best leading actress for “The Eyes of Tamy Faye”, a film bib over a Christian TV preacher.
The range of the Californian is enormous. In Kathryn Bigelow’s “Zero Dark Thirty” (2013) she chased up the Al Qaeda terrorist Osama Bin Laden in the role of a CIA agent. With Matt Damon she turned the science fiction spectacle “of the Marsian-saved Mark Watney” (2015), in “Molly’s Game” (2018) she played the “poker princess” Molly Bloom, the secret poker tournaments organized with celebrities and rich.
At the Berlinale she was last seen in Michel Franco’s love drama “Dreams”, which also revolves around the topic of illegal migration to the USA.
