Very nervous in front of aftercare examinations and at least one idea every day: Sylvie Meis continues to pursue her cancer, as she reveals in emotional words.
This should speak from the soul of many affected people: Although her breast cancer diagnosis was many years ago, she is still present for moderator Sylvie Meis. “So after 16 years I spend a day without not thinking about the disease at least once? No. I think of my illness every single day-sometimes only a few seconds, sometimes longer,” said the 47-year-old in an interview with “Web.de”.
It is also “very nervous and tense around the regular aftercare examinations”, even if the fear of repatriating relapse over time. Meis was 31 years old when breast cancer was discovered.
Positive impulses also followed the illness
But she also encourages those affected: “Without this challenging experience, I would not have put up my life as new as I did,” said Meis, with a view to positive changes from the disease.
“I managed to build up my own career, to be independent and to form a life for me, which I might not have succeeded under other circumstances.”
