In contrast to the previous years, the focus is on less spectacle and more sound experience, as is the 1979 premiere when Anton Bruckner’s 8th Symphony rose. Under the title “Urban Pulse”, the creative team tracked down the clock in which the “heart of the city” beats. For the first time since 1980, the Bruckner Orchestra, which recorded the music, is again involved.

The starting point of the sound cloud in 2025 formed the compositions of the Linz Johannes Berauer and the five-clock of multiprocussionist Christoph Sietzen. This is where director Simon Eichenberger put on the story, as well as the stage design and lighting design as well as the video installations of the Upper Austrian video design smithy Grauwerk. Afterwards, a follow -up cloud is waiting for the tens of thousands of visitors in the Danube Park.
The live stream starts at 8:30 p.m.
What you need to know
The open-air sound cloud “Urban Pulse” begins at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Donaupark Linz (abundant to get earlier is very advisable!), It takes an hour. At 9:30 p.m. the “follow -up cloud” follows with Marina & The Kats. The main sponsors are the Sparkasse OÖ, Linzag and the “Vienna City Insurance”. Admission is free.
A security concept divides the Danube park into six sectors (see graphic) to distribute visitors evenly. The Ernst-Koref promenade between Lento’s art museum and Arcotel becomes a one-way where you go but cannot linger.
