Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey have been awarded the video Music Awards. Another highlight was Ricky Martin’s appearance.
At the MTV Video Music Awards in the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, some of the greatest stars in the music scene came together on Sunday to celebrate. The evening was moderated by LL Cool J (57), there were appearances from Ricky Martin, Tate McRae, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Busta Rhymes, Steven Tyler or Mariah Carey, who received the prestigious video Vanguard Award.

In addition to Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga was one of the other winners of the evening as “Artist of the Year”. The music star moved on directly after the award. Ariana Grande was honored for the video of the year, among others, Alex Warren as the best newcomer and Sabrina Carpenter for the best album.
While Lenny Kravitz, Jessica Simpson or Paris Hilton were also present at the show, the largest music star was currently missing: Taylor Swift, who had just announced her engagement with Travis Kelce, remained away from the ceremony, although she was nominated in the category “Artist of the Year”.

A highlight of the Video Music Awards is said to have been the appearance of Ricky Martin. According to US media reports, he performed some of his biggest hits, including “Livin ‘La Vida Loca”, “Shake Your Bon-Bon” or “Maria”. Then Martin accepted the Latin Icon Award.
At the award ceremony, Ozzy Osbourne was also recognized – with a performance by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry von Aerosmith, Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt. They played the biggest hits of the Black-Sabbath front man who died in July, including “Crazy Train”, “Changes” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home”. At the end of the performance, the musicians said the reported: “Ozzy Osbourne Forever!”
