To celebrate Val Kilmer’s life one last time, famous colleagues, filmmakers and his high school love came together.
The Hollywood star Val Kilmer (1959-2025) died on April 1 after a long health suffering at the age of 65 of pneumonia, six days later the actor was cremated. On Sunday, only five months later, a commemoration took place in the well -known Chateau Marmont Hotel in West Hollywood.
Finally the star from “Top Gun” or “Batman Forever” got the farewell that deserves it. Famous companions such as Jack Black (56, in whose music video “to be the best” Val Kilmer 2012) or Sean Penn (65) appeared in a picture gallery of incoming guests in the funeral service. Musicians Slash (60), comedian Kristen Wiig (52), comedian Will Forte (55) and actress Daryl Hannah (64), also honored her canvas colleague. Also among the invited: Val Kilmer’s first high school love, actress Mare Winningham (66).
Directors such as Jerry Bruckheimer (81), who had made some of his biggest films such as 2006 “Déjà Vu – Bunst Against Time” (alongside Denzel Washington) with Kilmer, he was losing his loss with family, friends and colleagues that day.
Val Kilmer did not fight against death
In addition to the pneumonia, acute and chronic respiratory failure as well as carcinoma on the tongue were mentioned as the causes of death. Other diagnoses contained therein were malnutrition and an air pipe fistula. Kilmer had been fighting health problems for many years.
For a long time, the actor did not allow his larynx cancer to be treated for reasons of belief. For “Top Gun: Maverick” (2022), the native Californian again played in front of the camera in his famous role as Iceman. His cinematic farewell. Val Kilmer leaves two adult children.
