Ed Sheeran leaves his British homeland: the musician moves to the USA with his family.
Ed Sheeran (34) is apparently faced with a new phase of life. The successful British singer-songwriter has announced that it would leave his homeland of England and settle down in the United States. In a podcast conversation with “The 2 Johnnies”, the musician unveiled his far-reaching plans.
The reason for the drastic decision lies in its upcoming tour and family obligations. “I am currently moving to America,” said Sheeran. “I have the feeling that I might be the only one who moves to America,” joked the musician who grew up in Framlingham in Suffolk. He obviously refers to the US stars who have drawn abroad after Trump’s election victory. “I go on tour for a while and have a family, so I can’t just commute back and forth. We move around and let ourselves down there,” said the father of two daughters. Together with his wife Cherry Seaaborn (33), he plans the big step over the Atlantic. He does not reveal exactly where it goes for the family.
New album will be released on Friday
In previous interviews, Sheeran had already expressed his love for country music and especially Nashville. In a conversation with Alex Cooper, he revealed: “If you switch to country music, you can’t go back. Nashville is my favorite city in the States, and it has always been my goal to move to Nashville and switch to country music.”
The fascination for the music capital of Tennessees is not new. Already in 2013: “Nashville is full of very, very nice people. I don’t think the people in Nashville really give something to celebrities. Even if they knew, they wouldn’t care.”
that Sheeran is said to have bought a 9 million pound apartment in Brooklyn, New York.
After completing his successful “Mathematics” series, Ed Sheeran’s new album “Play” will be released on September 12th. The musician will be at the end of 2025. The tour leads him to France, Germany, Great Britain and Ireland. From January 2026, concerts for New Zealand and Australia have been announced.
