“The greatest betrayal that can be experienced”: Charlie Sheen talks about the moment his father reported to the police.
In the documentary “Aka Charlie Sheen” (from September 10th at Netflix) or in his just published autobiography “The Book of Sheen”: Charlie Sheen (60), his scandalum wings have been working on a large scale. In one, the actor now spoke about a bitter moment in his life. His father Martin Sheen (85) showed him once after violating his probation requirements.
“Greatest betrayal”
“It felt like the greatest betrayal you can experience,” said Charlie Sheen about his father’s step. It was only later that Charlie Sheen was acting as an act of “love”. But at that time it was a shock when his bodyguard reported to him that the police were just around the corner. And that his father is responsible for it.
Charlie Sheen always came into conflict with the law because of drug abuse. In May 1998, the “Two and a Half Men” star suffered a stroke after an overdose of cocaine. At that time he was on probation because he had physically attacked his girlfriend Brittany Ashland.
Martin Sheen said about the incident
At that time Martin Sheen paid the hospital bill and noticed why his son was in the clinic. “He had consumed an illegal substance and was under probation … it was a criminal case”, the desperate father saw the only way to get to his son.
By the way, Martin Sheen read his son’s book – and praised. “The fact that you describe the dark moments with humor is a profit for readers,” said his father, according to Charlie Sheen.
In the interview with “Good Morning America”, Charlie Sheen also reported that he had reached alcohol because of his stuttering. At the beginning of his career, he had the problem of not being able to pronounce some words. Alcohol gave him “freedom of speech”. Only late did he learn to deal with weaknesses and problems openly.
