Prince Harry and his Meghan have been living in the USA since 2020. They are now being recognized for their charity work by the American civil rights organization NAACP – and they are “proud” of it.
Prince Harry (37) and Duchess Meghan (40) are honored with the prestigious Presidential Award from the American civil rights organization NAACP.
The organization announced this. The couple is scheduled to accept the award at the 53rd NAACP Image Awards gala on Saturday night (February 26).
The “President’s Award” is given for social commitment and special services to the community. Past recipients include boxing legend Muhammad Ali, civil rights activist Jesse Jackson and singer Rihanna.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are committed to fighting together for social justice around the world, NAACP President Derrick Johnson said in a statement. They also supported the NAACP through their Archewell charity with the newly created Digital Civil Rights Award. The purpose of this award is to promote the work of civil rights activists in technology areas.
The couple said they were “proud” to support the work of the NAACP. The fight for social justice is just as important today as it was when the organization was founded almost 115 years ago. Founded in 1909, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) is the oldest and largest civil rights organization in the United States.
Stars such as Mary J. Blige, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson and Zendaya are expected to attend the 53rd edition of this year’s NAACP Image Awards for black artists in genres such as film, television, literature and music.
Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry left the royal family in 2020. They live in Santa Barbara, California with their children Archie and Lilibet.
