Even everyday tasks became agony: Selena Gomez speaks in a podcast about the difficulties her illness lupus gave her.
The singer and actress Selena Gomez (“Only Murders in the Building”) reported in a podcast of her lupus disease. “I have arthritis in my fingers and that is due to my lupus. I remember how I wanted to open a water bottle – that hurt a lot because I didn’t get the right medication yet,” said the 33 -year -old in an interview with Amy Poehler (53) in “Good Hang with Amy Poehler”.
At Gomez, the autoimmune disease was diagnosed in 2013. The immune system incorrectly attacks healthy cells. The kidneys were therefore also affected by the American. In 2017 she had to undergo a kidney transplant – the organ donated a friend.
“Many diseases are stigmatized. I know how it feels, I have experienced it. I want everyone to feel as good as I do now,” said Gomez in the podcast. That is why she deliberately designed the packaging of her cosmetic line in such a way that people with restrictions could also use them. “It looks like a little thing, but it is not.”
