Otto is celebrated at the German TV Award and announced a decision in the race between Tom Kaulitz and his wife. The leg by Günther Jauch is also surprising.
Tom Kaulitz wins against his wife Heidi Klum, Maria Furtwängler is fundamentally and Otto has “reason to celebrate” again: The German television award has been awarded. At the TV gala in Cologne, there was no very large clearer who was able to take home many prices in several categories – but several memorable moments.
Maria Furtwängler, for example – decorated for a long time and with many awards – seemed visibly touched when she won the television award as the best actress for the film “to the truth” (ARD/NDR). In it she plays a surgeon who is raped by her best friend’s son during a North Sea vacation.
Furtwängler said that hope would also have accompanied the project. “Anger that we live in a society in which it is still not a matter of course that a woman can and may say” no “at any time and that it doesn’t matter whether she is wearing a short skirt,” she said.
Welcome to the family duel
Actor Leonard Kunz was honored for “a man in his class” (ARD/SWR/BR) for the male actors. The poverty drama also won in the “Best TV film/multi -divider” category and was therefore able to obtain two television prices. Double winners of this year’s television award were also the doctor series “Surf Berlin (ZDF/Apple TV+) and the Polittriller series” Herrhausen-The Lord of Money “(ARD).
A certain spice was in the decision of the jury to assign the trophy in the “Best Entertainment” category to the two Tokyo Hotel brothers Tom and Bill Kaulitz for their Netflix broadcast “Kaulitz & Kaulitz”. The twins “Germany’s Next Top Model” (ProSieben), which is presented by Tom’s wife and Bill’s sister -in -law Heidi Klum. However, the brothers did not radiate fear of inner -family confiscation after the award of the price. “Thank you very much! We would love to be there!” Cheers Bill Kaulitz, switched on by video.
Prices for the joko-and-klaas universe
Prices also went to the Joko and Klaas universe twice. The comedian Teddy Teclebrhan was given the show for an edition of the joko show “Who steals the show?” (ProSieben) recognized. In the format, candidates try to fight Joko Winterscheidt the moderator job.
The once spontaneously invented ProSieben show “A very good quiz (with high profit amount)” by Winterscheidt and its Compagnon Klaas Heufer-Umlauf was named the best entertainment show and, among other things, sat down against Günther Jauch with a special edition of his quiz classic “Who is getting a millionaire?” (“25 years-the big anniversary special”).
Jauch still knew how to report something positive: he was “well advanced in the recovery process,” he said. The background: The 69-year-old was in his show “Who is getting a millionaire?” appeared with crutches. In a episode published in advance on RTL+ (broadcast on September 15, 8:15 p.m., RTL), he limps on walking aids into the studio.
At the television price, Jauch now revealed what had happened – a broken fibula on the ankle. “I’m stupid. I didn’t know that you can break your leg yet. But I think it will be again,” said Jauch of the German press agency at the after-show party. He didn’t have crutches in his hand.
Otto rolls through the stage in the disco mobile
In the information division, the Phoenix broadcaster got a prize for its parliamentary reporting. The best documentation was “system error: the Cum-Ex Skandal (ZDF/3SAT). For the best documentary series, the jury” German Cocaine Cowboy-The German in the Cali Kartell “(Prime Video).
It was already known that comedian Otto Waalkes should get the prize for life’s work. In a very unusual opening ceremony, the 77-year-old was therefore driven through the studio in a kind of golf mobile with a disco ball on the roof, flanked by dance couples, basketball players and people in fire brigade suits.
On stage, Otto then sang several songs from his legendary repertoire – including “Frisian boy”. After that, he also started the party clearer “We have reason to celebrate”, in which the hall immediately agreed.
Actually, he never saw himself as a television star, said Waalkes of the German Press Agency. “I used to appear in small clubs just to finance my studies. I did serious folklore,” he said. At some point he noticed that it was best with the audience when he apologized for breakdowns on his typical funny Otto art. So everything developed somehow. “I’m here now,” he said.
The German television award is carried by ARD, RTL, Sat.1, ZDF and Deutsche Telekom. The leadership changes year after year. In 2025 it is for the first time with MagentaTV. When implemented, Telekom’s offer works with the ZDF that the TV gala exudes.
