A famous couple was nominated in a category at the German TV Award: Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz. In the end, only one of the two could win.
On Wednesday evening it was time again: the German television award was awarded. Barbara Schöneberger moderated the large TV gala in the MMC studios (ZDF) with the awarding of the 18 work categories. The day before, the award winners in the creative individual services had already been honored at the “Night of Creative” under the moderation of Gisa Flake. It was the most exciting in the family duel in the “Best Entertainment” category: Here, Tom and Bill Kaulitz won against wife or sister -in -law Heidi Klum.
The second season of her Netflix show “Kaulitz & Kaulitz”, which accompanies the Tokyo Hotel musicians in their luxurious life, prevailed against “Germany’s Next Top Model-by Heidi Klum” (ProSieben). However, neither the Kaulitz twins nor Klum were on site. Instead, the brothers were switched off from LA and celebrated stylish with champagne.
“I would like to move through the clubs with Günther Jauch,” Bill Kaulitz regretted, lying a smile to the nominated moderator. Heidi Klum was somehow there: Tom Kaulitz wore a T-shirt with his wife’s photo-with a stink finger. “Germany’s Next Top Model” had ever won his first television award for the “best equipment entertainment” the day before.
Joko and Klaas deliver the best entertainment
A total of one of the most important German media prices were awarded production, entertainment, information and sport, which were broadcast between July 2024 and June 2025. The German television award is donated by ARD, ZDF, RTL, Sat.1 and MagentaTV. An independent jury of experts decided on the winners.
In the “Best Entertainment Show” category, Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf won for “a very good quiz (with a high profit)” (ProSieben). The two were also unable to pick up the price personally, but were switched off from the studio, where they are currently shooting again. “This is the first prize in which Klaas hugged me,” said Winterscheidt. For the “best moderation/individual performance entertainment”, Teddy Teclebrhan was able to show me “Who steals the show?” Enforce (prosieben). He was also not there live, but was shown from Mexico.
“Sick Berlin” is largely empty at the television price
With the most nominations, “sick Berlin” (ZDF/Apple TV+) started. The hospital series won the price in the “Best Drama series” category. In the categories “Best Actress” and “Best Actor”, however, the main actors had to give up against Maria Furtwängler (“to the truth”, ARD) or Leonard Kunz. The latter won for the film “A man in his class” (ARD), who also received the award as a “best television film/multi -part”.
Kunz was also only switched on, just like Tom Schilling, who was the main actor of “Mindful Murder” (Netflix) about the price as a “best comedy series”-but was already on filming 2. In the “Best Comedy/Late Night” category, Ina Müller triumphed for the third time with “Inas Nacht” (ARD). However, she could not be present either, since it “unfortunately caught” her, her team said.
Tim Mälzer appeals for more inclusion
It was moving at the awarding of the price for “best factual entertainment”: he went to Tim Mälzer and André Dietz for their “Herbstresidence” (VOX), in which people with disabilities support seniors in the nursing home. On the stage, Mälzer appealed to appreciate the time with his loved ones and to promote inclusion.
The “Penny Del” (MagentaTV) was able to look forward to the television award as a “best sports program”. In the “Best Information” category, the parliamentary reporting at Phoenix, the “Best Infotainment” delivered “37 ° Life: Against All Gods-Die Faiths-WG” (ZDF). “System error: The Cum-Exskandal” (ZDF) received the price in the “Best Documentation/Report” category. In addition, “German Cocaine Cowboy-the German in the Cali Kartell” (Prime Video) won as “Best Documentary Series” and Burkhard Kress for “Extra Special: Cancer-Why my diagnosis can change your life” (RTL) as “Best Moderation/Individual Information”. “Of course, this price is somehow also a bitter sweet. But I’m very, very happy,” emphasized the sick RTL presenter.
Honorary Award for Otto Waalkes
The sponsorship award went to Samuel Benito for “Time Crime – Follow: December”. Over 50 years of age difference, the young actor separated from the winner of the donor’s honorary award: he went to comedian Otto Waalkes, 77, for his life’s work. The comedy veteran personally picked up the award and was celebrated with standing ovation.
“I’m touched,” said Otto. “” Of course, a little final sounds to me for the life’s work, and after that you should stop. But I don’t want to stop, “he said and gave a German version of Paul McCartney’s” Yesterday “. Then Jan Delay sang a homage to him with “Oh Otto” and Marius Müller-Westernhagen picked up his friend with the GolfCart.
Already in the run -up to the award, the comedians were awesome on the red carpet in front of the honorary winner and emphasized the influence on their own career. “I heard his cassettes so loudly until my parents’ neighbors rang from above,” Matze Knop told the Spot on News news agency.
Bastian Pastewka was similar: “I thought he was great as a child, he was a lot of fun. And above all I had every Otto plate and listened to it several times up and down”. The two are therefore particularly happy to be able to smack Otto – and “every ‘Holladahiti!’ is justified today “.
