Stars from all camps condemn the violence against Charlie Kirk. Obama, Kimmel and Schwarzenegger express their sympathy.
The horror is cross -party: after the fatal assassination attempt on Charlie Kirk on September 10 at Utah Valley University, celebrities from politics and entertainment speak up. The 31 -year -old co -founder of the right -wing populist organization “Turning Point USA” was shot by a hedge shooter during a lecture – and triggers a wave of dismay.
Ex-President Barack Obama emphasizes in: “We do not yet know what motivated the person who shot Charlie Kirk, but this kind of detention-worthy violence has no place in our democracy.” Michelle and he would pray for Kirk’s family, “especially for his wife Erika and her two little children.”
Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, also commented: “I hope that we all go seriously in us and double our efforts to debate passionately but peacefully”.
Joe Biden joined the statements of his counterparts and confirmed that “in our country there was no place for this kind of violence”. “That has to stop,” and added that he and his wife Jill Biden “pray for Charlie Kirk’s family and his relatives”.
George W. Bush also showed similar views: “Violence and hate speeches have to be banished from public space. Members of other political parties are not our enemies, but our fellow citizens.”
The current US President Donald Trump wrote Truth Social on his platform: “Nobody understood the youth of the United States better or had a better sense of them as Charlie. He was loved and admired, especially from me, and now he is no longer among us.”
Hollywood shows sympathy
Rosie O’Donnell makes her disgust against the assassination attempt on Instagram. The former “View” presenter and great Trump opponent writes about a photo of the activist: “No, just no – do not become murderers – that’s wrong at every level.”
Actor Chris Pratt aims at the bereaved: “I pray for Charlie Kirk, for his wife and small children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God helps us.”
Late Night moderator Jimmy Kimmel writes: “Instead of angry with our fingers to others, can we only agree on one day that it is terrible and monstrous to shoot a person?” He also writes: “On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all children, parents and innocent people who become victims of senseless violence.”
Call after reflection
Arnold Schwarzenegger uses the attack for one: “Politics has become an illness in this country and it is fatal. But don’t listen to the pessimists who say that there is no healing. It is healing. It is in us.” The ex-terminator also writes: “This is a terrible tragedy. May it be a moment for everyone to rediscover their humanity.”
First Lady Melania Trump also comments on the children of the deceased. These would “grow up with stories instead of memories, with photographs instead of laughter and with silence, where her father’s voice should have sounded.”
