For a new audio book version of “Harry Potter”, “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington and Keira Knightley have been confirmed as a spokesman.
Fans of Harry, Hermione, Ron and Co. can look forward to two new, top-class “Harry Potter” projects in the future. In addition to the planned television series from HBO, which is due to start in 2027, the seven “Harry Potter” novels by JK Rowling (60) in the English original – as a radio play with over 200 speakers, new music and sound effects are also set to music. And the language cast of the audible audio book series also grows and grows and reads like a Who’s Who Hollywood.

Newly confirmed for the “Harry Potter” audio books are “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington as Professor Lockhart, “Curse of the Caribbean” star Keira Knightley as a professor Umbridge, the Scottish Mimes James McAvoy (“Split”) as Auror Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody and Simon Pegg (“Mission: Impossible”) as Arthur Weasley.
Also the illustrious cast includes Leo Woodall (“The White Lotus”) as Bill Weasley, Ruth Wilson (“The Affair”) as Bellatrix Lestrange and Iwan Rheon (“Game of Thrones”) as a Professor Lupin – alongside some others.

Spokesman James McAvoy: “I am totally enthusiastic about bringing the determined Mad-Eye Moody to life in these dynamic audiobook editions from Pottermore and Audible. He is a multi-layered character that constantly changes between combat-tested intensity and unexpected moments of wisdom. It has been incredibly fun to capture its impressive presence.”
A few weeks ago, some other big stars for the “Harry Potter” audio books were announced. For example, “Dr. House” star Hugh Laurie lends his voice to the headmaster Albus Dumbledore. Matthew Macfadyen, known from “Succession”, will take over the upper villain Lord Voldemort. Riz Ahmed will speak Severus Snape, “The Good Fight” star Cush Jumbo acts as a narrator.
The main characters Harry, Ron and Hermione are discussed in the first three books by Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester and Arabella Stanton. Later Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan and Nina Barker-Francis then take over the older characters. Stanton is particularly interested in “Harry Potter” fans, as she also plays in the upcoming HBO series Hermine.
The first audio look for “Harry Potter and the stone of the wise” is scheduled to appear on Audible on November 4 of this year. After that, a new band should follow every month by May 12, 2026.
