Prince Harry: Surprising visit to Ukraine

Prince Harry (40) surprisingly arrived at the Ukrainian capital Kiev. That reported. The Royal traveled to the war zone together with a team in his Invictus Games Foundation at the invitation of the Ukrainian government.

The visit is about new initiatives to support the rehabilitation of wounded. “We cannot stop the war, but what we can do is to do everything in our power for the recovery process,” Harry told the newspaper.

The Duke of Sussex emphasized the urgency of his mission: the journey should bring people closer to the reality of war at home because it was easy to dull against the action.

Harry received the invitation to Kyiv from a random encounter. Accordingly, he came across Olga Rudnieva in New York, the founder of the Superhuman trauma Center. “It was a random meeting and I asked her how I could help,” the prince reported. She told him that he had the greatest impact when he personally came to Kiev to speak to the veterans.

It is not Prince Harry’s first visit to Ukraine. Already in April he traveled to LWIW in the west of the country and attended a clinic in which wounded soldiers and civilians are rehabilitated. “You don’t see much of the war in LWIW. It is so far western. This is the first time that we will see the real destruction of the war,” said Harry before his arrival in Kiev.

During his stay, the Prince will visit the National Museum for the History of Ukraine in World War II. He should also spend the day with 200 veterans. A meeting with the Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko (39) is also on the program.
