Cillian Murphy “doesn’t know about it”

Cillian Murphy denies rumors about the Voldemort role in the new “Harry Potter” series. “I don’t know anything about it,” said the actor.

Cillian Murphy (49) commented on the rumors in the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast towards Host Josh Horowitz that he could take on the role of Lord Voldemort in the new “Harry Potter” series. “No. No, honestly – my children show me occasionally, but I don’t know anything about it,” the Irish actor replied when asked whether there was something on the casting rumors.

Ralph Fiennes (62) played the villain in the films. “It would be difficult to follow Ralph Fiennes. He is an absolute acting. So good luck to the person who steps into his footsteps,” said Cillian Murphy.

“I’m hanging on my nose”

In an interview with the “Oppenheimer” star, Josh Horowitz joked that Murphy would have to lose his “beautiful nose” for the role. “I’m very attached to it!” Replied Murphy.

It is not yet known who will play Voldemort in the standard adaptation of JK Rowling (60). The filming is currently underway to the first season, which deals with the first book “Harry Potter and the Stone of the Wise”. The “Harry Potter” series is expected to celebrate its premiere in 2027.

Ralph Fiennes wants to return as Voldemort

Ralph Fiennes said “Variety” in 2022 that he would like to return as Voldemort in the new edition. “Sure, of course, no question,” said the actor. In fact, this possibility could exist for Fiennes, since HBO recently confirmed, to fill the role of Professor Flitwick with the same actor as in the films, Warwick Davis (55).

Fiennes also said a few months ago that he would approved it if Cillian Murphy stepped into his Voldemort footsteps. “Cillian is a fantastic actor,” he said at “Watch What Happens Live”. “I really think that’s a wonderful suggestion. I would be completely for Cillian.”
