The count, singer of the band Unheilig, is on stage for the first time in the Golden Hen for the first time in many years – and talks about his comeback with tears.

With tears in the eyes, Unholy singers of the count celebrated his stage comeback at the awarding of the golden hen in Leipzig. He presented his song “Beautiful” from the new studio album “Dear Faith Monster”, which is due to be released in March 2026. After the musicians’ appearance, the musicians were visibly on the socket. “I feel like a little boy who comes in such a confectionery shop and you feel what you missed for so long,” he said. He is very sorry for the emotions overhanging him, “but that’s just music and that’s what I love”.



In his speech, he also told how important his wife’s support was. She has known him since she was children and gave him the necessary strength before appearances. At the end of the evening, the count sang a medley with its old hits together with the MDR symphony orchestra. The band comes from Aachen.

The count wants to make music again with unholy

The count actually announced his farewell to the music business in 2014. In 2016 he gave his last concert in Cologne. At the beginning of this year, a stay in the emergency room brought him to rethink, as he recently told the dpa news agency.

“I was sitting alone in this room and thought: Old Swede, when I get out of here, I’ll really think about making music again,” said the 55-year-old. Fortunately, it turned out that it was not a heart attack.




“Of course I know what some people will say. For example, that I will come back because I don’t have any more coal. Or that it was clear anyway that I would come back,” said the Singer. But it is not like that. In his break, he simply realized that time was finally. “At some point you can no longer fulfill certain dreams and certain wishes. For example, to be on stage again.”

The MDR and the magazine “Super Illu” are behind the price of golden hen. The award was originally launched to appreciate East German artists. In the meantime, the organizers see them as the all -German audience award. The name is reminiscent of the GDR entertainer Helga “Henne” Hahnemann.
