Anna-Maria Zimmermann: That is why her marriage failed after nine years

At the beginning of the year, pop singer Anna-Maria Zimmermann separated from her husband Christian Tegeler announced after nine years of marriage. In the former DSDS candidate, the former DSDS candidate now reveals details about the decision that she did not easily fall because of the children together.

On the one hand, she said to herself: “I can’t do that. I have two little boys, I am mom, have to be there for her and can’t do that now”. On the other hand, it has increasingly matured in it that separation is also the best for her children, because her sons deserved a happy mom.

She had become aware that she could no longer do the world on the outside and must sometimes be selfish. “I’m too young to be unhappy,” said Zimmermann.

She had a new love after the separation, which, according to her statement, had already taken place last year and only became public in early 2025, and briefly found in pop star Julian Benz. Ultimately, however, she “noticed at this time that I can’t allow that”. Until further notice, she wants to use “this alone” to be there for herself.

Zimmermann claims that despite the separation, she still gets along with her ex-partner. A fact that she is quite proud of. “If my boys say they have to see Papa now, dad comes for lunch. I say that many can take an example of how we get it just like it.”

Anna-Maria Zimmermann started her career in 2005 at “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, where she took sixth place. After that, she successfully established herself as a party hit singer who regularly appears on Ballermann and on Florian Silbereisen’s shows.
