Laws of Blake Lively: Confusion about possible statement by Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift’s team denied that the singer wants to testify in the judge of her friend Blake Lively. The actress sued her colleague Justin Baldoni.
Taylor Swift apparently did not agree to make a statement in the legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The singer only found out a few days ago that her name would be drawn into the procedure again.
In a letter to the responsible US Federal Court, which is available to the US magazine “People”, Swift’s lawyer Doug Baldridge said: “My client did not agree to make a statement, and she does not play an important role in this matter.” Baldoni’s application had only been found three days earlier to include Swift as part of a survey. However, if the court obliges you to testify, the singer could be available from the week of October 20.
US media had quoted from court documents that suggested that Swift had already agreed to a survey. Baldoni’s lawyer had argued that Swift had already promised, but could only testify in October because of full schedules. The singer’s team rejects this presentation. Lively’s lawyers also decide to extend the deadline and accuse Baldoni’s side of deliberately drawing Swift for public attention.
What Taylor Swift has to do with the legal dispute
Blake Lively accuses her “only once” co-star and director Justin Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni rejects the allegations. A $ 400-million counter-action he submitted, in which Swift and Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds were also mentioned, has now been rejected.
Swift is actually on the outside in the process. Their connection to the film is limited to the fact that one of her songs, “My Tears Ricochet” was used. Nevertheless, her name appeared in Baldoni’s lawsuit against LIVELY at the beginning of the year. Among other things, he accused his colleague defamation, breach of contract and emotional burden and in this context mentioned SWIFT as an example of Lively’s “protective powers”.

The fact that her name falls again is incomprehensible on Lively’s side. Especially since Swift stands in front of one of the greatest career moments of the year with the release of her twelfth studio album “The Life of a Showgirl”.
The process is scheduled for March 2026. It is currently unclear whether Taylor Swift actually has to appear as a witness.
