Boris Becker: “I only have a small circle of friends”

Boris Becker has changed the time in prison – and especially his circle of friends. “I have become extremely careful with people. The trust is already scratched,” said the former tennis star in the interview of the German Press Agency. In the past he was “a philanthropist”, he first let everyone in. “This is no longer the case,” said the 57-year-old.
Becker had been sentenced to two and a half years in prison in London in April 2022 after not properly stating assets in an insolvency proceedings. He was in custody for 231 days before he was deported to Germany. In his book “Inside”, Becker reports in detail about the encounters with fellow prisoners and false friends from the time before the conviction.

The former Grand Slam winner has lived with his wife Lilian in Italy since April 2023, the couple awaits a child.
