Restrana on October 7 but the 1 will make a special function celebrating the 90th birthday of Julie Andrews. He was also part of the Hollywoodense version of “The kiss of the spider woman” directed by BIll condomproduced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and starring Jennifer López, Diego Luna and Tonatiuh Elizarraz.

Gandolfo, accompanied in the piano by Albinarrate, Sing and dance by complicit to the stalls of the story of Catalina Lonely: a woman who incorporates from her earliest childhood to Julie Andrews Like her invisible friend. The show has more than 30 original melodies and songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Sherman, Bernstein among many others, in addition to the original songs. We talked with Gandolfo.

Journalist: You arrive at the Paseo La Plaza after seasons in the Maipo and Ace and Hugo Awards for your performance, in addition to other awards. What do you attribute this criticism event, is it up to the public event?

Lucila Gandolfo: It is not just a tribute to Julie Andrews, the story is very rich, because in addition to singing these songs that were very inspiring for so many childhoods of so many generations, there is a story of a woman who is a fan of what she saw on screen and that desire to be a singer, who is truncated. Talk about what happens to so many people who have a dream and do not concrete, being locked up. There is a very powerful story with sensitive issues such as bullying in school, harassment in adolescence, from friends or the opposite sex and final hope, the main character becomes a teacher and rescues the child who is violated. Then he will be the one who saves her. He has hope and love for Julie.

Q.: What does this book by Fernando Albinarrate have that stands out in the dramaturgy field?

LG: It has sensitivity, an incredible pen, from “neither with dogs nor with boys” and then I did “jazz to the couch”, where I mixed that music with the therapy. He armed with an original monologue of mine a life story with diverse ingredients.

Q.: What can you say about the work that Julio Panno printed from the gaze of direction?

LG: He knew how to grab the text and there was a comb, this is its, minimalist, a table and four chairs, bags and an umbrella. With as little as changing a shoe we modify the ages of the protagonist, which begins at 6 years and ends at 62. With almost nothing he knows how to tell how she travels life. Panno is very clear that if it is already said, it is not necessary to sing it too, that if it is in the body or song it is not necessary to reiterate again. He goes to the point, has a lot of sensitivity, they see me in the hospital, see the child, and that is thanks to the setting.

Q.: You do a special function for Julie Andrews’s 90th birthday, what can you say about this artist?

LG: He interpreted these iconic roles, from music, game, magic, he won the hearts of the children. His sweetness, sympathy, beauty, the color of his voice, his saying, the clarity with which Julie, with that crystalline and pure voice, could say. And he did not boast of sending himself vocally with something dazzling even though it was too, but it is simple, of course, pure. It shows something that many like, because Peace refreshes and transmits. Then in “Victor Victoria” or “Diary of a princess” he strengthened him. I think it proved to be humble, it is still an example and I like to honor her.

Q.: How was art transformed from Mary Poppins or the rebel novice to here?

LG: Any formula that was replicated was successful, such as “The Wizard of Oz” and the musicals of the time, today are success because they have condiments of what were those films, great Hollywood blockbusters as “singing in the rain”, which are powerful stories in addition to music, art, choreography, singers and characters. We have replicated those formulas.

Q.: How is your role in “The kiss of the spider woman” that premieres on October 10 in the US with Jennifer López? How was that experience?

LG: I do Monina’s mother, I appear little but I had a beautiful experience with Tonatiuh Elizarraz. I hope he comes out of jail and he visits me when I am sick, there is also an appearance like the plaster of the cinema in a poetic scene. Bill Condon, the director, is an exceptional being, directed “Dreamy”, “Chicago”, “La Bella and La Beast”, worked with Hellen Mirren, with Ian Mckellen, it is an honor to work in a production of this level, we filmed in Uruguay. Working with that director is the dream of any of the musical comedy.
