South Park and the controversy for the death of Charlie Kirk
The delayed episode will be the first of the series from the death of Charlie Kirk. After his murder in an event at the Utah University Campus on September 10, the controversy revolved around the South Park episode of August 6, “GOT A NUT”which included jokes that made fun of Kirk’s policy, as well as their podcasting and debate style.
(At one point, a character who would later win the “Charlie Kirk Award for young debating teachers” says: “You cannot trust the Jews, whites are disadvantaged and women belong home”). After the murder of Kirk, the episode was removed from the rotation of linear repetitions of Central Comedy, but is still available for streaming in Paramount+.
South Park will be broadcast on September 24, after two weeks of rest. Subsequently, the series will continue to premiere new episodes every two Wednesday, from October 15 to December 10.
Parker and Stone are executive producers of South Park with Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II, with producers such as Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell and Vernon Chatman.
