Singer Howard Carpendale no longer wants to sing about physical love at the age of 80. In contrast to Roland Kaiser.
Howard Carpendale (79) no longer wants to sing songs with erotic texts at his age, as he revealed in a conversation with the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung”. “I am very, very grateful that none of me can expect,” said the almost 80-year-old in an interview.
Next Saturday (September 20) the ZDF will dedicate an edition of the “Giovanni Zarella Show” to the hit star and presents the “Night for Howard Carpendale”. The singer turns 80 in January – and will go on tour again in 2026.
Howard Carpendale: “I don’t want to criticize Roland Kaiser”
Songs with suggestive texts will no longer be heard by Carpendale. The newspaper states that, when looking closely, hit fans can conclude that Howard Carpendale is “the man for the feeling” while his colleague Roland Kaiser (73) is “the man for physical”. Howard replied: “I also experienced a physical life!” In terms of his music, however, he said: “I wouldn’t just sing about it if I am 70 or 80.”
If he does that at 30 or 40 years, then “it’s okay”, as he finds. At his age, however, he was happy “that none of me can expect that”. Reference to colleague Kaiser, who is also colloquially referred to as a “gentleman with suggestive texts”, but also also referred to as “soft pornograph of the German hit”, said Carpendale: “But I don’t want to criticize Roland Kaiser with that. He has a lot of success with it.”
Some time ago, according to the newspaper, rumors circulated that Howard Carpendale and Roland Kaiser could work together for a joint show. When asked whether there is something on a possible joint appearance, Carpendale replies taciturn: “No.”
