While Donald Trump’s state banquet ran at King Charles, Secret Service and Kitchen Chiefs in Windsor Castle fought violently.
The glamorous state banquet for Donald Trump (79) in Windsor Castle developed into a culinary mine field behind the scenes. While the 160 VIP guests fed in the magnificent St. George’s Hall, a solid argument between American security forces and top British chefs in the royal cuisine.
Accordingly, the tensions escalated behind the scenes when several secret service agents entered the kitchen in order to monitor the preparation of the three corridors. The officials are said to have even cost the dishes in advance – supposedly very much to the displeasure of the highly professional kitchen crew in the service of the British Royals.
A royal source reports “raised voices on both sides” and a “heated change of words” that lasted for several minutes. What started as a “silent annoyance”, according to the report, developed into a full -grown conflict between American security culture and British kitchen tradition.
The opulent menu-written completely in French-comprised Hampshire Brunnenkresse-Panna-Cotta with Parmesan shortbread as a starter. The main course consisted of biological Norfolk chicken ballotine, enveloped by zucchini with thyme. The conclusion was a vanilla ice cream bomb with a raspberry sorbet core.
Port wine should honor Donald Trump
It was also drunk: English sparkling wine from Wiston Estate as aperitif, plus a dry white wine Domaine Bonneau de Martray. For the main course there was Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2018 and a red Ridge Vineyards Montebello from 2000. The 1998 Champagne Polro Roger Extra de Reserve rounded off the experience.
Particularly refined: A 1945 port wine honored Trump as the 45th US President, while a 1912 cognac was supposed to remind his Scottish mother’s birth. Although Trump is considered a well -known abstinence, the guests were able to enjoy a specially created “Transatlantic Whiskey Sour” with Johnnie Walker, jam and roasted Marshmallow.
Royale Dementis with persistent explosiveness
According to the British media, palace officials, however, rejected the representation as “categorically untrue” and spoke of an “extremely warm and supportive” collaboration with the American colleagues. Nevertheless, the Royale Source confirmed: “In the hall, the guests remained completely unsuspecting, but in the kitchen it was impossible to overlook the argument.”
