After three divorces, Robin Wright continues to believe in great love. “Our hearts relax,” said the 59-year-old.

Robin Wright (59) cannot be stored by failed relationships. The actress, who has already had three marriages, continues to describe herself as a hopeless romantic. In conversation with the doctorate of her new Prime video series “The Girlfriend”, Wright revealed her unbroken confidence.

“You can go through stormy, stressful relationships, but we relax, don’t you?” Said the Hollywood actress. “Our hearts relax with the belief that it is still there and can be achieved – and how wonderful when it comes back.”

Three failed marriages, a great hope

Wright looks back on a moving love story. From 1986 to 1988 she was married to the now deceased actor Dane Witherspoon (1957-2014). The most famous relationship led her with Sean Penn (65), which she married in 1996. The marriage to the Hollywood star held until 2010 and produced two children together: daughter Dylan Frances Penn (34) and son Hopper Jack Penn (32).

Wright in 2018 dared her last attempt with the French fashion manager Clément Giraudet (41). But this connection also failed after four years – in 2022 the actress submitted the divorce due to insurmountable differences. Today Wright is in a relationship with the British-Australian architect Henry Smith, whom she met about a year ago.

No more jealousy with almost 60

Wright have shaped the experience, but not embittered. When asked what she no longer wants to experience in romantic relationships, she replied with remarkable clarity: “I don’t want to worry anymore. I don’t want to be doubtful. I don’t want to be suspicious.”

The mother of three compared this development to a natural growth process: “You grow out of it as if out of pants. I cannot imagine feeling what I felt back then – jealous of being suspicious.”

Henry Smith as a new life partner

Wright was already appreciated in August about her current partner Henry Smith. She described him as a “treasure and simply a good, decent adult”. The two had met in a pub and their relationship was intensified by a common covid 19 disease shortly after the first meeting.

Despite her romantic nature, Wright categorically excludes a fourth wedding. “No. God, no. Why? That is just unnecessary,” she clarified in the interview. Nevertheless, the actress dreams of a future together: “I want to get old with someone, travel and see the world.”
