Angela Merkel is not interested in social media. In an interview, she explains how she expresses her opinion instead.
The former Chancellor Angela Merkel (71) revealed in an interview with the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (NOZ) that Instagram and Co. play no role in their everyday life. For them, social media are neither relevant as a source of information nor as a platform for their own expression.
“I myself find out more about newspapers, TV programs and read online media,” she explains in the conversation. “My source of information is not social media.” In addition, she is “not actively actively on X or TikK or Instagram”. The former chancellor relies on her website if she wants to comment on topics. “If there is something where I am expressed, you also notice that the citizens already find this website quite good and use it.” Everyone can turn to them there, Merkel emphasizes.
