Can Sean “Diddy” Combs be prison shortly after the punishment in early October? At least his lawyers are striving for this.
On October 3, the sentence is likely to be read in two cases for guilty hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs (55). And that could possibly be so low that the fallen music star will be released immediately afterwards. In any case, according to COMBS, the lawyers demand this in an almost 400 -page document, which was presented to the court on September 23.
: “It is time for Mr. Combs to go home to his family.” In order to achieve this, the musician’s lawyer team strives for a prison sentence that should “not be more than 14 months”. In fact, this would be released almost immediately after reading the sentence in early October. Finally, Combs was arrested in September of last year and has been in custody since then.
In any case, these are counted towards the overall penalty. Also means: Combs’ lawyers come through with their application, their client may probably be in prison in November of this year.
Combs’ family also has their say
The extensive document contains letters from Combs’ mother, his children as well as famous friends and various business partners. They are supposed to draw the image of a man who has already served his just punishment and that his family is dependent.
The public prosecutor will also present a comparable letter in the coming days, in which it in turn justifies its significantly higher demand for the sentence. Originally, that was probably four to five years in prison, but in the meantime it has been reported that this was made too low. For each of the two guilt, Combs threatens up to ten years in prison, which theoretically means a maximum punishment of 20 years.
Combs had reacted with relief in the guilty verdict in July. Finally, the jury had acquitted him from the even more serious allegations of sex trade and blackmail. Several applications, Combs should be released until the sentence was announced against payment of a deposit in the house arrest.
