The restart of the series Baywatchwhich has been being taken for some time, has obtained a direct commission of 12 episodes for its premiere in the 2026-27 season. The new installment of the Action Drama on lifeguards comes from the creator of Burn Notice, Matt NixFremantle and Fox Entertainment.
Baywatch, which Fox had been developing since the winter of 2024, charged impulse in early 2025 when Nix, who has a direct agreement with Fox Entertainment, was hired as a new screenwriter. His script finally received green light, with Nix as executive producer and showrunner.
Months passed until the renewal of the series was closed since the chain had also been exploring shooting places.
