What is truth, what is fake? This is not always easy to say in the glittering social media world. Under this aspect, Michael Kessler finds a new ARD format particularly exciting.
Michael Kessler (58) has become more suspicious in the course of his life. “Who is honest, who is lying to me – this is becoming increasingly difficult to recognize in our time,” said the comedian and actor of the German Press Agency in Cologne. “I think we are all looking for the truth in the end, but how do you find them? I am now more skeptical, certainly less naive.”
Kessler participates as a spokesman in the reality show “Werwolves – The Play of List and Decoration”, which can be seen in the ARD media library from September 25th and from October 2 in the ARD.
It is based on the card game “The Werwolves of Düsterwald”. 13 players move into a remote village, but among them lurks a fatal danger: three of the players are werewolves, camouflaged as harmless villagers. They aim to eliminate the others without being unmasked themselves.
The format immediately convinced him because the 13 players were extremely well cast, said Kessler. “Among them is an actor, a psychologist, a chess wholesaler – everyone is very good at pretending something, and it is really exciting to watch her.”
In addition, the format has a connection to the topicality and everyday social media: “Because deception and beautiful appearance are increasingly operated there.”
