Combs defense tries to tip the judgment

Around a week before the sentence for Sean Combs is to be announced, his lawyer team is committed to making the judgment void.

Around a week before the planned announcement of the punishment against the US rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, his lawyer team tried to tip the judgment. The conviction in connection with prostitution was not covered by the corresponding law, argued the defense at a hearing in New York, to which Combs itself appeared. The judgment must be dropped or there must be a new process.

The public prosecutor rejected this reasoning. The judgment must be recorded. Judge Arun Subramanian promised a quick decision, as US media unanimously reported.

Combs was partially spoken in the summer

Combs had been arrested last September for allegations of sexual offenses in New York. In a sensational process, jurors spoke him partly at the beginning of July. However, they only found the 55 -year -old guilty in connection with prostitution – the least serious indictment. Regarding innocently, the jurors decided in the charges of the conspiracy for organized crime and human trafficking.

The rapper now threatens a prison sentence of up to 20 years – but no longer lifelong, as threatened if he had been found guilty in all points. The sentence is to be announced on October 3. The rapper sits in the Metropolitan Detention Center in the New York district of Brooklyn. Judge Subramanian had rejected early dismissal of the rapper.

A few days ago, the defense of the court had called for a maximum penalty of 14 months. Combs would have already served them practically. The public prosecutor wants to give up with its own demand.
