Aaron Sorkin’s “social network” film confirmed its official title, cast and premiere date

The film is starring Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Bill Burr and Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg.

The sequel to The Social Network (Social Network) directed by Aaron Sorkinwinner of the Academy Award, now officially entitled The Social Reckoningwill arrive at theaters on October 9, 2026, Sony Pictures announced Friday.

Oscar winner Mikey Madison (Anora, Once Upon A Time … in Hollywood), the winner of the Golden Globe and the Emmy Award Jeremy Allen White (The Bear, the next springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere), the Emmy nominee and Grammy Bill Burr (Old Dads, The King of Staten Island) and the Oscar nominee Jeremy Strong (The Amprentice, Succession) will star The Social Reckoning, with Strong confirmed to interpret Mark Zuckerberg.

The Social Reckoning is written and directed by Sorkin, who also produces with Todd Black, Peter Rice and Stuart Besser. Production is expected to begin next month.

What will The Social Reckoning try

Described as a “complementary piece” of “the social network”, the new film tells the real story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, requests the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to undertake a dangerous trip that ends up revealing the best kept secrets of the social network.

Horwitz reports, a series of articles known as “The Facebook Files”were published in 2021 and exposed Facebook for their harmful effects on adolescents and their deliberate proliferation of misinformation, which contributed to acts of political violence.

The 2010 film, also released in October, was a success of criticism and box office, raising 226 million dollars at the world box office and receiving eight Oscar nominations, including best film. The best script prize in Sorkin (the film was freely based on the book “The accidental Billionaires” by Ben Mezrich) he was one of the three Oscar who finally took.
