People all over the world are showing solidarity with Ukraine. The legendary cartoon family “The Simpsons” is no exception.
The creators of the cult animated series “The Simpsons” have shown solidarity with Ukraine without big words. In a picture posted to Twitter on Saturday, the serious-looking members of the cartoon family can be seen holding several Ukrainian flags.
The drawing is provided with the hashtags #TheSimpsons, #Simpsons and #Ukraine. After a few hours, the post garnered more than 145,000 likes.
In the past, too, the series had repeatedly taken up political issues – both in relation to the USA and to international events. “The Simpsons have always defined themselves as political television,” wrote Moritz Fink years ago in his essay “Political Education in Yellow?”.
