In his rare explanation, Prince Harry reacted to reports of British media after the meeting with his father.
Prince Harry, 41, reacted to reports in which his meeting with King Charles III, 76, on September 10th in London was described as “extremely formal”. In a statement, he rejected claims that at the appointment he felt more like an “official visitor” than a family member.
“The latest reports on the duke’s views on the tone of the meeting are categorically wrong,” said Harry’s spokesman in a statement on Saturday. “The quotations attributed to him are pure inventions and come, you can only assume, from sources that want to sabotage any reconciliation between father and son. Probably the same sources have also disclosed that gifts have been exchanged.”

“People” also quotes from the statement: “We would have preferred it if such details had remained privately, but for the sake of clarity, we can confirm that a framed photo was handed over. However, the duke and the Duchess were not to be seen on the picture.” It remains unclear whether the photo instead Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
On September 10, Prince Harry met for the first time since February 2024 with his father for a private tea in the Clarence House, the king’s London residence. The meeting lasted about 55 minutes and is seen as an important step towards reconciliation – at least as long as Harry does not comment on it negatively. However, “The Sun” had recently reported that the prince felt more like an “official visitor” than a family member and reunited the reunion as “very official, as an official visit”.
Harry and his wife Meghan, 44, resigned as working members of the royal family in 2020. In California, they built up a new life with their two children and publicly expressed criticism of the royal family.
