JK Rowling rejects Emma Watson’s attempted reconciliation. The author accuses the actress of ignorance.
The conflict between JK Rowling (60) and Emma Watson (35) is increasing. The author of the world-famous Harry Potter books made it clear on Monday that she has no interest in reconciliation with the actress. Watson had previously indicated in an interview that, despite different views on the transgender theme, she continued to feel appreciation for Rowling.
After Rowling was repeatedly accused of translucent statements, Watson and her co-star Daniel Radcliffe (36) had then campaigned for the trans-rights. Watson recently stated in Jay Shetty’s podcast with regard to the “Harry Potter” author: “I can love her, I can know that she loved me and I can be grateful to her” that through Rowling’s series she has received the “in the history of English literature as good as unique” opportunity to play a figure like Hermine Granger.
JK Rowling: This is accusing Emma Watson
In her current statement, Rowling made it clear that she did not expect any actors who once embodied a figure she created. The idea is just as absurd as if she still had to ask her boss at the time for permission for her opinions. Watson and Daniel Radcliffe have every right to join the gender ideology.
However, the two have “made it clear in recent years that they believe that our earlier professional connection gives them a special right -even the duty -to criticize me and my views in public. Even years after they exit Potter, they continue to take the role of de facto spokesman for the world that I have created.”
Then Rowling went hard to court with Watson. The actress has so little experience with real life that her own ignorance is not aware of her. Watson will never need a homeless shelter and will never be housed in a mixed -sex station in a public hospital.
The “Harry Potter” creator asked a number of rhetorical questions: Whether Watson ever had to move in a newly introduced mixed-sex locker room of a public swimming pool? Does she ever have to go to a state advice center for rape victims who do not guarantee a guaranteed purely female service?
Rowling recalled that even at the age of 14 she was not a millionaire. Instead, she lived in poverty as she wrote the book that made Emma Watson famous. The support of the Trans-Community by Watson described it as “destruction of women’s rights”, which concerns women and girls without Watson’s privileges. The author then turned Watson’s latest appearance in the “On Purpose” podcast.
Rowling described these statements as ironic and suspected that the change of strategy was done because Watson noticed that unreserved conviction of Rowling was no longer as popular as before. The writer made it clear that adults could not expect to join an activist movement who regularly calls for a friend murdered, and then requesting her right to the love of this former friend – as if she were her mother.
Watson is free to disagree and to express their feelings publicly. But Rowling has the same right, and she has now decided to perceive it.
