Recently Emma Watson still expressed her appreciation for JK Rowling – but the author now counters with sharp criticism of the actress and her privileges.
Watson, who represents the figure of the Hermine Granger in the “Harry Potter” films, had criticized Rowling for her views in the past. The 60-year-old Rowling has been accused of terms of transloating for years. The author’s statements led to a disagreement with some stars from the “Harry Potter” films, in addition to Watson, also leading actor Daniel Radcliffe.
Rowling now said on X that Watson had not sufficient understanding of the scope of the transgender theme due to her celebrity, which had already been achieved at a young age.
JK Rowling reacts to Emma Watson’s statements
At the age of 14 she was not yet a multimillionaire, the bestselling author wrote about her own person. “I therefore understand through my life experiences, which means the destruction of women’s rights in which Emma has participated so enthusiastically, for women and girls without their privileges”. Watson “will never be relocated to a mixed hospital room” or have to move in the “mixed changing room” of a public swimming pool.
Rowling said he said at the present time on Watson’s statements because the actress had announced last week to still love and appreciate the author. This is “a U -turn that she probably did because she noticed that a vocal condemnation of my person is no longer quite as popular as before,” said Rowling.
