Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers only demand 14 months, but the public prosecutor, on the other hand, has now over eleven years in prison for the fallen music mogul.
Shortly before the planned prison of punishment in the court trial around Sean “Diddy” Combs (55) On October 3, the New York public prosecutor’s office has now also informed its assessment of an appropriate punishment for the US rapper. , the prosecutors want to know the musicians found in two cases for prostitution for a total of eleven years and three months in prison.
As a reason for the requested sentence, comparable cases are used from the past: “The crimes he committed are serious and have in several cases led to over -ten years for accused who, like Sean Combs, applied violence and frightened others,” a prosecutor is cited. In addition to the prison sentence, Combs must also be imposed “an impressive fine” in the six -figure area, the public prosecutor demands.
According to the reports, the fact that a significantly higher prison sentence is now required than at the beginning also has to do with the fact that the accused “showed no remorse” throughout the legal process and instead staged himself as the victim of a lubrication campaign.
Request in the blatant contrast to Combs’ lawyers
A week ago, Combs’ lawyers had already presented a similar, almost 400 -page document in the court. The sentence required in it massively deviates from that of the public prosecutor: it is argued that Combs’ acts would only justify a prison sentence of 14 months. In fact, this would be released almost immediately after the sentence was scheduled at the beginning of October. Finally, Combs was arrested in September of last year and has been in custody since then that would be counted towards the overall sentence.
A few days ago, Combs’ lawyers even tried to completely tip the process. During a hearing in which, in addition to Combs, his mother and some of his children were also present, a lawyer of the rapper had stated, according to the U.S. reports that were unanimous, that the conviction was not legal, since the law was not used in the event of Combs. The judgment should therefore either be dropped or there should be a new process.
The responsible judge has not yet publicly commented on this application. However, it is unlikely that the process will be completely re -rolled up a few days before the aim of reading the sentence.
In July, Combs found guilty by a jury in two cases of prostitution, but was acquitted of the even more serious allegations of sex trade and blackmail. Combs threatens up to ten years in prison for each individual of the two guilt, which theoretically means a maximum punishment of 20 years.
