A study reveals that although most try to lead a healthy life, daily stress and the lack of hours of rest are our silent enemies.
The heart remains the great thermometer of our health. On cardiac health day, a survey conducted by Avalian shows a worrying radiography: more than 70% of those consulted believe that daily stress impacts directly on their heart, and half feel stressed.

We are aware, but we cannot avoid it. The main causes indicated are work (48.7%), economic problems (43.3%) and lack of time (31.4%).


Young people are an especially vulnerable group. Most of the 19 to 30 years confesses to suffer from work pressures, the gap between life costs and salary, and the consumption of social networks.
Do not smoke, a healthy habit
Faced with how you care about your heart, 76% say they don’t smoke, a distant reality 20 years ago. The practice of physical activity is added to the anti-Tabaco routine- more than 58% ago at least 30 minutes of daily sport- and annual medical checks; 57% confirms that once a year they attend the doctor to review their heart and more than 68% are regularly made electrocardiograms.
As for the favorite sports disciplines, the gym leads that, according to the report, between the ages of 19 and 35, it is mixed with other activities such as football and running, and – from 40- it complements with walks.
Sleep: a subject that we must improve
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institute on Aging are accurate: adults should sleep between 7 and 9 hours. Avalian’s survey shows that – from respondents – more than 50% sleep between 6 and 7, a step below recommended. In addition, more than 15% sleep less than 6 hours.
A few hours of sleep, the balanced diet is added: more than 50% do not take care of meals.

We firmly believe that talking about cardiac health, and its relationship with personal well -being, is a fundamental tool to understand how we should take care of our heart, not only with medical check -ups, but also in day to day,” concludes Claudia Paviotti, medical manager in Avalian.
