Crown princess Amalia begins training in the military

The Dutch Crown Princess ended her first studies in July. Now another chapter on the way to the succession of the throne begins for Amalia.
In addition to her law studies in Amsterdam, the Dutch Crown Princess Amalia (21) started her military training as a matrosine and soldier. “The Princess of Orania begins her training at Defensity College on September 30th” ,. “His royal highness has appointed the Princess of Orania to the reserve staff of the armed forces, in the rank of a Matrosin third class at the royal navy and the rank of a soldier of the third class at the Royal Army and the Royal Air Force,” said the oldest daughter of King Willem-Alexander (58) and wife Máxima (54). She will complete various theoretical modules and training of the program and initially work as a work student in the administrative staff of the Ministry of Defense.
Practical part of Amalia’s training postponed
Due to Amalia’s arm break after the fall of a horse, it cannot initially participate in all physical training parts of the upcoming military program. She only wants to make up for this after full recovery. The message states: “The general military training was postponed until it has completely recovered from her broken arm. After the general military training has been completed, she is promoted to non -commissioned officer.”
The princess performs her work free of charge and her studies are considered a private matter, the court emphasizes in its message. “The Defensity College program contributes to personal, professional and military development.”

Only in July had Amalia celebrated the end of her Bachelor’s degree. On Instagram, the royal family released a photo on which Amalia proudly smiles into the camera with a traditional graduate hat. After graduation, she started her second bachelor’s degree in Dutch law.
Amalia is the first wife of the royal family in military service. In addition to the 21-year-old, the royal couple has two more daughters. 20-year-old Alexia and sister Ariane (18).
