Politics meet entertainment: Julia Klöckner and Jörg sit at the service of German unity Pilawa Side by side next to the Federal Chancellor. One of the first public appearances.
Bundestag president Julia Klöckner (CDU) and television presenter Jörg Pilawa appeared as a couple for the central festival of German unity: together they took part in the ecumenical service in the Ludwigskirche in the morning. There they sat in the front row alongside Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU).
At the end of August it became known that Pilawa and Klöckner are a couple. Circle of friends had confirmed that both had met from friends at a festival in the home town of Guldental about friends who would have presented each other.

Pilawa is a four-time father and has lived separately from his wife for three and a half years, Klöckner has been divorced by her ex-husband. According to friends, the Hamburger and the Rhineland Palatinate are regularly traveling together in Klöckner’s rural constituency of Bad Kreuznach, and the families also know each other.

The dpa learned from the circle of friends of the two that Klöckner and Pilawa should be in a relationship. The two are said to have got to know each other at a festival in the home town of Guldental of the CDU politician about friends who presented each other

Klöckner was elected Bundestag president in March, Pilawa is one of the most famous faces on German entertainment television.
The service was the start of the official celebrations for the Day of German Unity. At noon there is a central ceremony in the Congresshalle, in which, in addition to Merz (CDU), Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and French President Emmanuel Macron take part.
Under the motto “Future through Change”, Saarbrücken is transformed into a festival mile with art, culture and culinary bridges, but also political discussions and encounters. Around 600 artists can be seen on 20 stages and scenery. The program also includes musical appearances by Rea Garvey, Marquess, glass bead game, Leony and the prince.
