Oasis guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs makes cancer diagnosis public

In the middle of the Triumphals Reunion tour from Oasis there is now a terrorist message: Paul “Bonhead” Arthur, guitarist and co-founder of the legendary rock band, has prostate cancer. And announced a break from the current world tour.

“At the beginning of this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer,” wrote Arthurs in his post. The good news followed directly: “I really speak to the treatment, which meant that I could be part of this incredible tour.” But now the next phase of his medical care is pending. Therefore, he will have to miss the concerts in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney, said the guitarist. The disappointment about it is great: “I am really sad to miss these oasis shows.”

Despite the health setback, Arthur is optimistic. He assured the fans: “I feel good and will be ready for South America in good time.” In November he wants to go back to the stage, as he confirmed. He addressed the concert visitors of the upcoming shows: “Have a great time at the gigs this month, and I will see you again on stage with the band in November.”

The band itself reacted immediately to the news of their longstanding companion. The official Oasis Instagram account said: “We wish you all the best for your treatment … We’ll see you on stage again in South America.”

For Arthurs it is already the second cancer diagnosis within a few years. In 2022 he had to be treated for almond cancer and then paused at Liam Gallagher’s solo concerts. After successful therapy, he had received the “all -clear” and returned to the stage. Now he is facing this challenge again.

The story of “Bonhead” and Oasis goes far back. The guitarist had started his musical career with Liam Gallagher in the band The Rain, from which the Oasis later became. As a co -founder of the group from Manchester, he shaped the band’s sound. In 1999 Arthurs left Oasis, but remained closely connected to Liam Gallagher over the years. He played Beady Eye in his band and also accompanied him in his solo career.

The Reunion of Oasis caused a sensation in August last year – 15 years after the spectacular break when Noel Gallagher left the band in 2009. What fans never thought was possible became a reality: the disputed Gallagher brothers performed together again. The tour started in Cardiff in July and developed into the climax of the summer for thousands of supporters.

After the successful UK section, concerts are now on the program in South Korea, Japan, Australia and South America in October and November. According to speculation, the band could play more shows in 2026 – exactly 30 years after Oasis had completed two sold -out nights in Knebworth Park in front of an estimated 250,000 people.
