“The Manifesto”: Gorillaz released a new song with Trueno

Gorillaz released “The Manifesto”, a new topic which features the collaboration of the Argentine rapper Trueno and the artist Proof. The song is part of the band’s upcoming album, The Mountainwhich will be released on March 20, 2026 through the Kong label, and marks one of the main collaborations on the album.

Until now, Gorillaz had already presented the first single from the album, “The Happy Dictator” alongside Sparks, showing part of the musical style that will characterize the album. With these releases, the band anticipates an album with multiple collaborations such as one coming with Bizarrap and a great sonic diversity.

Trueno’s relationship with Gorillaz: Quilmes Rock and Pulse of Gaia

Trueno had already shared the stage with Gorillaz in 2022during Quilmes Rock, performing “Clint Eastwood” with a freestyle that welcomed the band. Regarding the collaboration, the rapper explained: “Damon’s daughter listens to my music and I must have shown her something. And thanks to the people at Pop Art, the festival’s producer, we were able to combine and meet Damon and his band. “Then they invited us to come up and improvise with them and we were grateful for the invitation.”

Last Saturday, September 20, Gorillaz performed in Madrid during the Pulse of Gaia festival, and Trueno performed “The Manifesto” with the band. “I crossed the door and today I feel free, I left the past and I focused on the simple, just give me 21 grams to feel firm, and I will leave you my legacy before I leave,” the Argentine musician sang.

The Mountain: a multicultural album

The Mountain will include songs in Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish and Yorubaand will feature international artists such as Bizarrap, Ajay Prasanna, Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash, Anoushka Shankar, Asha Bhosle, Black Thought, Gruff Rhys, Idles, Johnny Marr, Kara Jackson, Omar Souleyman, Paul Simonon, Sparks and Yasiin Bey.

Trueno’s participation reinforces the Argentine presence on the album and consolidates his place on international stages, marking a new milestone in his musical career.
