Actress Wanda Perdelwitz dies after a bicycle accident in Hamburg
Wanda Perdelwitz played police officer Nina Sieveking in the TV series “Großstadtrevier” for nine years. Now the actress has died after a bicycle accident.
The Hamburg “Großstadtrevier” and “Dream Ship” actress Wanda Perdelwitz is dead. “It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of the actress Wanda Perdelwitz, who died in a tragic accident,” said her manager Uta Hansen when asked by the German Press Agency.
The 41-year-old was exceptional as an artist and person – passionate, truthful and full of dedication. “Out of respect for the family’s grief, we ask for your understanding and to refrain from making further inquiries.” The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported.
According to several unconfirmed media reports, she died as a result of a bicycle accident. In fact, on September 28th, a 41-year-old woman in the Rotherbaum district of Hamburg suffered life-threatening injuries in a so-called dooring accident and was .

According to the investigation, a passenger opened the door of a stopped van from the inside, presumably without paying attention to cyclists. The 41-year-old hit the door and was seriously injured.

Parked cars have long been considered a safety problem for cyclists. In a 2020 study, the Insurers’ Accident Research (UDV) found that 18 percent of all accidents involving injured cyclists and pedestrians were related to parked motor vehicles. Dooring accidents were identified as the main problem. In a detailed analysis of eleven German city centers, around half (52 percent) of all accidents related to parked vehicles were due to dooring accidents.

Perdelwitz became known primarily through her appearances on “Großstadtrevier”, which she left in 2022, and on “Traumschiff”. “The news of Wanda Perdelwitz’s death hit us deeply,” said Frank Beckmann, program director for NDR, in a press release from the station. “For nine years she played the role of police officer Nina Sieveking with a lot of warmth, energy and passion ‘metropolitan area’ embodied – a character that has grown dear to many viewers.” The TV station is changing its program on the occasion of Perdelwitz’s death and is showing the program “Großstadtrevier – St. Pauli, 6:07 a.m.” this Thursday at 10 p.m.
Perdelwitz studied at the Rostock University of Music and Theater from 2003 to 2007. The Berlin native leaves behind a son born in 2019.
