The No Angels are back with a new song. “I still believe” shouldn’t just be any song – but also a message. He should give hope.
The cult pop band No Angels releases a new song – and with it has a special message. The song “I still believe”, which will be released on Friday, is intended to send a sign of hope and draw attention to the situation of children around the world. It is the anthem for this year’s RTL telethon, as the broadcaster and band have now announced. It is the No Angels’ first new song since 2021. The telethon, which raises funds for children in need, is one of the biggest charity events of the year.
“In this day and age, it is impossible to overlook the terrible events happening in the world. Be it in Gaza, Ukraine or elsewhere. Children everywhere are suffering immeasurably,” said band member Sandy Mölling. “We cannot close our eyes to this,” she demanded. With the song, the musicians want to make a statement and say that there is still hope. “I hope that the song comforts people, gives them strength and makes them feel understood,” explained band colleague Nadja Benaissa.
No Angels: Back to the beginning
Incidentally, working on the song took the singers emotionally back to their beginnings. “We felt like we did 25 years ago with “Daylight in your Eyes”. Each of us can identify so much with the song,” reported singer Lucy Diakovska. The No Angels emerged from the talent show “Popstars” in 2000. With “Daylight in your Eyes” they landed their first big hit and became probably the most successful female band in Germany.
The RTL fundraising marathon starts on November 20th at 6 p.m. It is the 30th edition of the charity campaign, which is once again presented by Wolfram Kons. The new No Angels song will provide musical accompaniment. The band will also present the song in the studio.
Transparency note: The star belongs to RTL Deutschland.
